treeChristmas!

CLH's Christmas box came today. So after my exercise on the Nordic Track, already feeling euphoric from sweat and exhaustion, I got to feel giddy too. I can tell three places where she shopped: CVS, Urban Outfitters, and Express.

My stocking came from CVS, as should all stockings (or similar stores). A little of this, a little of that, and a YM magazine that advertised on its a cover a free Hanson poster. Plus a multiple-choice quiz that I could have completed and submitted for a chance at--what prize, I don't know. Since after seeing the "Mm-Bop" video twice I still needed my older sister to tell me the middle one is male. Oh.

Reading the advice articles peppered with probably already-dated slang, I felt like Alex in the music store, meeting the young devotchas who had their like way of govoreeting.

From Urban Outfitters (I assume), CLH found me a Curious George lunchbox and calendar, and the calendar has Curious George stickers with which to note special days. Now all I need is the Curious-George-in-the-box I saw in the Museum Store in December. I wonder if anyone would play with a Curious George-in-the-box, since apparently no child wants to play with a Charlie-in-the-box.

RDC and I bought RDC the younger a computer game for Christmas in which a boy, inspired by his bedtime comic book, becomes a superhero so he can go capture darkness in his lunchbox and not be afraid to sleep with the light off. Not a dentist, he is going to be Pajama Sam. So RDC asked if I was going to keep darkness in my lunchbox. No. I settled on crayons and colored pencils.

And from Express, a knit shirt, not quite a sweater, in a super plum color. I would never have selected either the color or the style for myself, but I like both and the color complements my hair perfectly. I guess I don't like shirts as such. I can window-shop for dresses and skirts and be transported with joy, but shirts and shoes leave me cold. Anyway, I happened to have a pair of tights in about the right color, and so with a short black knit skirt, I have an Outfit. Wonders never cease. And my plain black monk's shoes look okay with it. Well, it seems so to me.
