13 December 1999: Hmm?

Last night one of the "60 Minutes" stories was about homosexuals in the military and how when the service is facing its most severe manpower [sic] shortage in decades, it's dismissing gays in larger and larger numbers. The recently murdered army man's repeated reports of harassment were not investigated because that would have involved asking and telling. The Pentagon wouldn't talk to "60 Minutes" but a retired lieutenant colonel (I think) did. He gave two reasons gays shouldn't be in the military:

It's cold and wet and you're sharing a poncho with a fellow, sharing body heat. You don't want to feel there's any inappropriate contact, any misinterpretation of why and what.

Or, you're wounded and being carried off the field and you have to be able to trust that nothing else but medical necessity is going to happen to your body while you're incapacitated.

Do you what that means? That means that all homosexuals are always on the make and stoop to rape at every opportunity. All, always, every.

I wonder if I should worry about heterosexual male physicians, myself.
