John Berendt, Midnight in the Garden of Good
and Evil
The first half, with its vignettes of Savannah characters, was good; the
second, consisting mostly of a trial, was not.
It wasn't as I expected, Beowulf through the eyes of the monster. Rather it was the nature of humanity and near-humanity. Narrated by George Guidall: a good thing.
